About Jerilyn
My name is Jerilyn and I am a stay-at-home mother with four young children. We homeschooled for five years but now my children attend a new local public Montessori school. We still homeschool part-time however, on breaks and over the summer. My husband and I are natural entrepreneurs, and are regularly trying out our own business ideas. I have a passion for history, especially the Middle Ages, but I love all history, so you’ll sometimes find posts on different periods of history and what I’m learning about our past.
I also love the needle arts, the performing arts, fantasy and sci-fi, gardening & landscaping, cooking & baking & preserving. I am a big fan of all things Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Narnia. I am also a Christian who loves communing with the Lord in my heart every day. But my family has left the mainstream Christian church model—we are seeking to know the Lord at a deeper level in our community house church. Christ is a daily part of my life, but I’m not a big evangelist, so don’t expect sermons here—more like the underlying thread that ties everything in my life together.
Disclosure
My husband's company, Surehand Inc., pays me a small, monthly fee to write this blog. It was his way of giving me a venue in which to write about my projects and dreams, as well as a way for him to experiment with collecting ad revenue. Here and there he hooks up books or movies I mention to Amazon, in the hope that you find them interesting and eventually purchase them. Despite his fiddling around with stuff like that, I write whatever I want and the content is not dictated by money.
