Okay, before you start laughing, scoffing, or let yourself get turned off by the mention of this topic, take a moment to consider an intelligent person’s thoughts on this weird subject. First of all, it is one of the greatest mysteries of our time. It is easy for the average person to write it off, or to laugh at anyone who has an interest in it, etc. But no one has really earned the right to react like that unless they’ve done the research and weighed the evidence and tried to figure it out for themselves. There is actually a lot of unexplained evidence to examine. So if you’re going to automatically brush this off as ludicrous, then you have to be able to satisfactorily explain the mounting evidence. What is your counter-evidence to disprove the possibility of UFO’s? Otherwise, there’s a better-than-average chance you’re just putting yourself into the same place as all the masses who laughed at the early scientists who said the earth was round and not flat. Some of the evidence is that compelling and unexplainable.
In my opinion, those of us who are willing to take this topic seriously likely have these traits in common: (1) we are imaginative; we can actually visualize such a reality, we find it not so hard to accept; (2) we crave adventure; there are few frontiers left in our present reality to explore, and space is the biggest one left to us—our wandering and curious spirit wants to know what’s out there; (3) we want to know the truth so that we can deal with it. If it could be true that an alien race is visiting us regularly, then that fact could shatter all of our realities and shake humankind to its core. The closer one gets to the real possibility of it, the more terrifying it becomes. I contend that deep down inside, maybe subconsciously, this is really why most people will not even consider the topic, and have completely closed off their minds to it. But there are some of us who would rather know the truth, no matter what it is, and find a way to deal with it, than to hide behind closed-mindedness in primal fear (even though that part of us is there too).
