August 2, 2007: I'm making kefir now and Sean and I enjoyed a vanilla kefir smoothie today. Shannon and I asked the neighbors for their apples and gave them some fresh Romaine from our garden in exchange. The guy said they didn't care about the apples and to help ourselves. So she and I brought home two bagged armloads of smallish apples. We tried one, but it was almost as tart as a crab-apple--guess they're cooking apples. I'll have to start making lots of apple dishes.

Russell Stover was having a clearance sale so I brought home 3 small cases of chocolates and hid them in the house so hopefully they'll last a while--our family's chocolate stash. Spent $18.00. We went there to celebrate Shannon making it into her ballet ensemble by audition.

For supper the family had fish tacos (with lettuce from the garden) and tortilla chips. I went out to eat with the sisters from home church and I over-ate.
