Eating "Nothing" for Supper

August 14, 2007: I spent a little over an hour cleaning again this morning. It was great, but afterwards I felt wiped out (the mopping usually does this). I noticed, though, that since I've started noticing dirt more, I have less tolerance for it, so throughout the day I did small cleaning jobs here and there as well.

I should have baked bread today but lost my energy, so I didn't. Sean ended up making a lunchmeat wrap with a corn tortilla for lunch.

We had "Nothing" for supper, a new recipe from the book Living the Good Life. I used onion, carrots and parsley from the garden in it. It's a kind of potato salad with whatever produce you have ready from your garden. It tasted good, but I felt I needed fruit with my supper, so I got out the small batch of homemade applesauce I had made and had some--it was tart and cinnamonny, but complemented the healthy meal perfectly.

"NOTHING"

Pan-fry an onion and 4-5 mushrooms in a little oil until lightly browned, then set aside. Cook cut up about 6 medium potatoes or sweet potatoes in water until nearly cooked, then drain and gently pan-fry until golden and crisp. Combine with 6 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and halved; 2 carrots, grated; a generous handful of peanuts, some chopped chives and parsley, 2 Tablespoons mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon ground cumin.

You & your family are amazing...I find it fascinating to hear of your adventures.  Most kids

wouldn't touch half the things you serve yet I get the sense that everyone is

copasetic (sp?) with your lifestyle experiment, including Sean.  Maybe it's just that I'm

so picky that I find it amazing! :)  I'll stay tuned in...
