The Beauty of Variety

I remember looking at a page in a children's book called People. The page showed what a city would look like if everyone dressed the same all the time--all gray. All of the buildings were gray, too. It was very dull.

I've realized lately how fun it is to see people's personalities come out in the clothes they choose to wear. And the variety of it all is wonderful. I love color and art and beauty--it's a large part of who I am. And this is often reflected in the clothes I wear--lots of bright colors, folk-art style patterns, etc.

So sometimes I do buy and wear cute clothes. And I love it.

Check these out--they're modest, too!

Wrap Tunic Sweater

An inexpensive short-sleeve sweater tunic

Dressing modestly can either make you look frumpy, or make you look 'classy.' One good, and stylish, way to dress modestly is layering! I have this pretty white t-shirt with lace around the neck that shrunk on me. It still fits...but it's a bit too tight for my tastes. Last spring I made myself a buttoned top, and it turned out the neckline was too low. Believe me, I'm no prude, but I'm not exactly going to 'advertise what I have', either! (I don't need to, anyway...I'm happily married almost 27 years.) What to do after all that sewing? Easy...I layered the button top, which is red and white, with the white T top! Problem solved!

In fact, I'm not even going to put that lacy T top in the attic for the winter, 'cause I have some other things I can wear it with.
