I've noticed lately, from the homeschool groups I'm in, from the news and from friends, that it seems most people have been struggling and having difficult times this month, including me. It makes me wonder if it could be related to the shorter and shorter days, as we gather closer to the Winter Solstice this week. I've been feeling on edge, and more tired in general than normal. And I've noticed in the past that once January comes, and the days start getting longer again, my energy surges back (great for those New Year's Resolutions!).
So, my advice is, if you're a homeschooler, take the whole month of December off and just focus on holiday activities and preparations. And for everyone, try to get in extra sleep & rest in December. Try to stay indoors more, take it easy, enjoy a good book or movie, enjoy a fire if you can, and hot chocolate, etc. Make it a low-key month. If you can, get your shopping done before December. Let's relax and wind down with the solar year, and hold off on ambitious projects until the sun comes back again.
