In my previous post, I spoke about how, in our home church, we simply love our Lord Jesus Christ. I mentioned some things that we do, and in these next posts I'll elaborate on those practices. Many of these have been practiced by holy ones for thousands of years, but I think Americans have forgotten them.
BEHOLDING HIM: This is sometimes called Meditation, or meditating on God. Instead of praying to Him by listing all of my problems, or desires, or prayer requests, etc. I simply enter into His presence silently. I work on quieting my mind, and when my mind wanders, as soon as I'm aware of it I center my focus back on Jesus. Sometimes I imagine myself entering His throne room, or sitting with Him, or kissing His feet, or cuddling in His lap like a little child. Sometimes I imagine myself simply gazing at His beautiful face. Or strolling through a meadow, hand in hand, bride and groom. I simply focus on being aware of being in His presence. I am always in His presence, but with daily distractions it's easy to forget. When I behold Him, I focus all of my attention on His presence surrounding me, and on my oneness with Him.
